The Fiji National Sports Commission was set up to establish higher standards of excellence in all sports delivery systems within Fiji.
At the Sports Outreach Program conducted in Saqani, Cakaudrove this month, the Fiji National Sports Commission launched a new Wellness Initiative. The initiative saw the establishment of a pool of Fitness Leaders who take on the role of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Ambassadors in the community.
The Fiji National Sports Commission in conjunction with the Ministry of Health’s Wellness Department, and National Sporting Organizations facilitated two very successful Wellness and Sports Program for Harts Residents in Nasinu on Saturday 30 April, 2016 and mothers and youths for villages in Serua at Galoa Village in Serua on Friday 20 May.
The second Fiji National Sports Commission’s Sports Outreach program and Train the Trainer Program for the year was successfully completed at the Ahau Government Station in Rotuma on Thursday 3rd November,2016.
Following the Train the Trainer Program at Lawaqa Park Nadroga in August, Nakavika Namosi Participat, Adre Vereivalu wasted no time in organizing his village up in the mountains of Namosi to facilitate a multi-sport tournament in the process of establishing a multi sport club in the village.
The Fiji National Sports Commission successfully facilitated a Sports Outreach Program last week (May 30 – June 3 2016) at Saqani Village, Cakaudrove. Rugby League, Rugby Union, Tennis, Volleyball, Boxing, Soccer and Netball were the seven sports involved in the program.
